HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR

First off, yay! Happy Lunar New Year to all!
Every CNY makes me crazily tired because of the non stop visitations and this year, I'm even more hectic than usual. Don't ask me why. I have no idea. I've been out almost everyday and I didn't even gamble or whichever! Thank god work only starts on Thursday so I can finally sleep in.
CNY Day 1 is always the busiest of them all. With all the major relatives to visit, by the end of the day I was zoning out. I was stoning on the sofa until my cuzzie came along and we started gossiping about our lives and omg I can't believe he's already 17!? 17 and so much taller than me. What have kids been eating nowadays zzz.
Afterwards, I spent a really lovely time with the bestie's family. We had a really cozy reunion dinner together (idk when was I a part of the family but apparently I am lols). We had like a forever ukulele karaoke session in the room and when we had nothing left to sing or prolly cause we were running out of voice, the bestie hijacked her mum's van and we went off for a late night movie (KINGSMAN WAS SOOOO GOOD OMG).
Then this crazy girl decided to go back to her office to collect her shoes in the middle of 3am ish so I did that with her. So that makes us both cray cray. We used to do this really often when I had my mum's car lols. We'll drive to random places and have our midnight adventures with a whole lot of retarded videos. I really miss doing all these cray things with you <3 NEXT LONG WEEKEND WE DO THIS AGAIN KAY.
CNY Day 2 was a little bit more relaxed. Went for visitations then picked Rowena up to doll up together cause we're heading to Vice at night along with Kiatkeong and Darrek and we got really high. Or just Rowena and I lols. I really think I'm too old to club. I need my sleep hahahaha.
The best time was prolly my CNY Day 3. The mumsie and I headed over to JB for some fireworks fun at my cousin's place (I'm Singaporean mind you. My cousins just stay in Malaysia that's all. JUST SAYING.)
Mini Firecrackers or something.
I've never played with fireworks in my entire life or even be so close to one as a matter of fact. I'M SO GLAD I FINALLY GOT TO DO IT. Another thing checked off my bucket list. IT WAS DEAFENING but fun. Like very fun. I've never ran sooo much since 5 years ago. I mean you would do the same too - light the firecracker and fireworks and RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN BEFORE YOU GET HIT. Not like its of any use anyway because the firecracker & fireworks thingy still hit me even from a super far distance. Stupid. And yah, it hurts too but I would still do this all over again. Its really mesmerising, lighting something and hearing the sound and next thing you know, the fireworks you have lighted are up in the sky. It was great.
But anyhoo, before we got to do all that, I spent almost an hour teaching my mum how to rollerblade. That was something.
I remember telling my mum 'you have to be daring to fall down! Don't be scared.' and she was like 'DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD YOUR MOTHER IS!? IF I FALL DOWN I WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL.' I literally LOL-ed. Quote of the day guys.
And because my cousins stays in Malaysia, they have all sorts of exotic pets. Like I'm not even kidding and I'm not going to elaborate on what sort of pets they have either but they only pet I was interested in was this adorable little hedgehog. THEY HAVE LIKE 10 OF THEM and omg they hurt so bad lols. They're not cute at all. They're soooo prickly and I'm never ever going to touch one again. I was rubbing my hands for like 5 minutes afterwards :(

Sooo, that pretty much sums up my CNY. Food + Fun + Laughter = Great Memories. annnnnd i'm back to reality tomorrow. I WILL miss you CNY Break.
Will be blogging about my new hair soon anyways so check back like soon. I promise.

ANNIE'S FAREWELL DINNER AT RAMEN KEISUKE TONKOTSU KING FOUR SEASONS

Super delayed post once again. I'm at Starbucks now clearing my work emails and have decided to take a break from work for a short while to update my blog because its been dead for weeks hahaha. Anyhoo, do come down to Clarke Quay Central for their CNY Fukubukuro Bag Event to show your support guys. Tyvm. I've been planning this event for weeks and nothing can describe how happy and fulfilling I'm feeling right now (besides being totally shag).
So anyway, Annie has flown to Paris since weeks ago (and yes I miss you, please come back soon and feel free to keep an eye out for hot guys for me thanks, or don't come back if you found someone who can make you happy there.) Because the rest of the gang have been sooo busy, we couldn't make it to send Annie off to the airport (sorry once again) so we had a farewell dinner for her at Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons since she wanted something asian-y before flying off for her exchange.
I'm a fan of ramen but as usual, i'm a complete know-it-nothing so i've NEVER tried Keisuke's Ramen. I know i know, what have I been doing with my life. I have no idea hahaha. So apparently, you can sort of make your own ramen and obviously i chose Summer cause I like it hawt. Initially, when my friends told me I could make my own ramen, I got kind of excited like omg, I can cook my own ramen!? REALLY? I can do a Camillia Ramen!? soo upon seeing the paper, I got really sad hahaha. but OH WELLS. Better than nothing.
Then there's this free flow of specially marinated Bean Sprouts thats freaking nice but be warned, its a trick! You'll keep munching on the bean sprouts and you'll end up really full. No shit. For someone who never liked vegetables (except sambal kangkong), you'll love their bean sprouts. I'm serious. I had to control how much I was refilling because it was sooo damn good. And then there's the complimentary hard boiled eggs too.
It's like there are so many things for you to do while waiting for your ramen. You can get to grind your own sesame seeds as well. Its up to your preference how grinded you like your sesame seeds to be but I was doing it for fun so I kept grinding it till well, till there's nothing left to grind...
And by the time we're done competing whose the pro sesame seeds grinder, our ramen came. Okay because everyone ordered different 'DIY Ramen', I have nooo idea what theirs was. But Annie's ramen was SOOOO GOOD. The broth was awesome. Her ramen looks like this so guys try it, I'm serious. We ended up leeching her soup and completely ignored ours.
Annie's Ramen
Chengyong's Ramen
Junny's Ramen
My Ramen
Out of the many ramen places I've been to, I can honestly say that Ramen Keisuke's ramen was really great. I'm categorising it as my go to ramen place now so thanks guys for bringing me hahaha. YAY.

TANUKI WITH THE CLIQUEEE

Why hellooo, its only been 2 weeks into the brand new year but somehow, its feeling alot like half a year have flew by. The Christmas craze, then the New Year Craze and now the Chinese New Year craze - I NEED A GETAWAY.
I spent my first weekend of the New Year with the amazing cliqueee. Its a very rare occasion when EVERYONE in the cliqueee are able to make it so imagine my surprise when all of us kept aside the entire Saturday for each other. We've spent more than 12 hours with each other and yet, it still wasn't enough.
We had our brunch at Tanuki where we also celebrated Yuliang's birthday as well.
(yayy happy belated birthday! Congrats to being the first of us to get old.)
The 2 other busiest girls I ever know, besides me.
With a big group of about 9 people, a special thanks to the Tanuki staffs who tolerated with our slow decision making and when we confused our own orders as well as the amazing customer service (especially when we requested to have 9 back to back polaroid shots taken just so everyone of us can get to keep a polaroid lols).

Majority of us ordered different things but the food was amazing. Not sure if its cause we took 15 minutes to take pictures or what but we all shut up when we started eating HAHA. The only thing that I kept hearing was 'Mmmm, soo good.', 'Ehh, can try yours?'
This is my first time at Tanuki actually and I really enjoyed my salmon bowl (its the fourth bowl picture). There were so many different variations of salmon that in full honesty, for a moment, I couldn't decide on which salmon I would want to eat first. I usually save the best for last but I had a tough time deciding which salmon was the best sooo that's a first.

We then had a mini celebration for Yuliang and the Tanuki staffs were nice enough to refrigerate our cake for us and they even provided us with plates and forks for our cakes too. I mean I've been to certain restaurants where you HAVE to buy their cakes and even if you didn't, they wouldn't provide you with dessert cutleries either. I get where they are coming from but I just don't think there is a need to be so rigid.
We spent more than an hour at Tanuki's balcony taking we-fies and making a hell loads of noise (i'm sorry, i think we're horrible too) that i'm actually super surprised that we didn't get thrown out HAHA. So brunch at Tanuki was awesome. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is awesome, the people are awesome too - its definitely a place that I would revisit when I crave for some Japanese food.

The cliqueee then went back to our usual spot of standing in circles to decide on what to do. Apparently, that is our fav past time - standing in circle in the middle of nowhere, to decide what to do. So we ended up playing L4D2 till evening before walking all the way from Dhoby Ghaut to Marina Square to have dinner at Burger King because Yongshan wasn't there to decide on what to eat for us HAHA and we walked from Marina Square to Clarke Quay to chill at Alegro's after.
It was a very tiring day. There were alot of walking involved. Orchard to Dhoby then Dhoby to Marina Square then finally to Clarke Quay. But it was a fun walk with loads of bullshit. What can I say? We've been friends for almost 9 years. Digging up each other's embarrassing moments and crap that we talk about when we were young is what we do.

Oh, and i'm finally doing something about making sure I can get my license before my 22nd Birthday. yay goals! so many goals to achieve, so little time. I can't believe I'm turning 22 this year sighhh.

BYE BYE 2014.

With 2014 coming to an end in a couple of hours, it only makes sense to wrap up my year. I realise that I've been blogging for more than a year but the amount of posts I have is relatively little HAHA. OOPS.

Before I start penning down my reflections of 2014, I would like to pen down the amazing time I had in December. I've always had a weak spot for Christmas and as much as I complain about having to buy gifts, I LOVE BUYING THEM cause the reaction of my family & friends are priceless. I'm really REALLY proud of my gift wrapping this year btw. I think I've outdone myself. Its like every year, I keep trying to outdo myself and idk why do i keep doing this. Oddly enough, I find some satisfaction in that. Hahaha.
This Christmas has been crazy for me. Majority of my friends are having their uni holidays now so it has been weeks after weeks of meetups and gatherings plus with the whole end of year craze, endless projects have been flopping in at work so December was really hectic but nonetheless, enjoyable. The worst was probably the week where I had to throw a back to back Christmas party for my polymates and secondary school mates. There was a very high chance that I didn't sleep for close to 48 hours. That was intense. So intense I slept my entire Sunday away and I only woke up the very next morning for work. It felt like I was in a coma or something. I'm definitely too old for this (even though i'm only 21).
Okay, if i'm going to start going into everything that happened in December, this will be a damn long post which is not happening because I'm a lazy reader and this is suppose to be the last post of the year so yay its time to reflect.
2014 has been intense for me with so many major changes in my life. It's like the moment I hit 21, everything changed instantly. I don't even know where to begin on how drastic it was initially to adapt to everything that has been happening - My first relationship of 4 years ended, and when I decided to give love another shot with someone new, it came crashing down on me all over again. My mum moved overseas as well and I probably changed jobs like three times within this year because nothing was working out. Somehow within a short period of time, I was forced to grow up. Being financial dependent, being completely independent, adapting to not being able to lean on "the other half" when things get tough, it wasn't easy. The worst part was when everything was happening concurrently, I really felt that I had no air to breathe but yet somehow, I made it through. To be honest, I have no idea how. All I knew was one day, everything is going to fall right into place and everything will be okay because this is only a phase and God will never throw me something too major that he knows I can't handle.

I think 2014 itself has made me grown alot as an individual. I learn to be alot more positive, I learn that no matter how tough a challenge is, there is always a solution for it as long as i persevere. I learn to never give up and I learn to love myself a little bit more and the biggest lesson I've learnt is on love. That you should never let anyone treat you as secondary. That people only make time for what is important to them and sometimes the harsh reality is that you're just not that significant and when you're of the least priority, you should learn how to love yourself and walk away from it before you shatter. That if anyone dares to treat you otherwise, know your value because there is someone out there that will run to the ends of the earth just to spend some time with you.
There are things that I'm really thankful for this year as well. I'm thankful for my new job. I'm thankful that everyone in my company has been nothing but nice to me. I'm thankful for the amount of opportunities that I've been given even though I'm still so young & green. I'm thankful for my superiors placing their trust and faith in me and allowing me to grow and for teaching me new things every single day.
I'm thankful for all my amazing close friends who have never lost faith in me and have always believed in me. Lastly, i'm thankful for my bestie because you've been through so much with me. You've been through each and every one of my heartbreak. You've seen me cry and you've pulled me right back to where I am suppose to be right now. You restore my faith in myself when I doubt my capabilities and when I'm insecure and fearful of my future. I don't know if I can ever pull through what 2014 has thrown to me if you were not by my side, morally supporting me through it all. Thank you for everything (even though you're always nagging at me and scolding me for being a klutz and for constantly forgetting to eat). I still love you nonetheless.

With the year coming to an end, a part of me anticipates what 2015 will bring and a part of me is filled with fear of the unknown future. All i know for sure is that I'm DEFINITELY getting my driving license before I turn 22 ahahaha and that I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle so guys, I've signed up for a 6 months gym package at Physical ABuse HAHAHAHA. its okay, even I have difficulty believing in that but in my defence, its not a typical gym gym. There are like hip hop, dirty dancing, belly dancing classes and even pilates. They have like a huge range of programmes and I like their programmes so why not right?

ANYHOO, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU GUYS. HAVE A GREAT ONE. XX.

ITS A TURQUOISE CHRISTMAS

So I've been pretty well behaved for the past couple of months. I understand that my hair needed its break so all I did was touch up my roots. As tempted as I was, i didn't dye it in any fancy colors because my hair was sooo damaged and it was really causing alot of problems for me.

But now that my hair is getting A LOT better (thanks to the miracle DYNA Argan Oil Treatment) and since Christmas is my excuse this time round and plus the ash brown blonde color was really fading like no one's business, I decided to have a hair makeover all over again and I LOVE MY HAIR COLOR SO MUCH NOW. I'M ME AGAIN.
Why hello you, i have missed you my fancy colors.
I've always wanted to dye only the bottom half of my hair but I've never done that because I'm always changing my entire hair color. It was always red, or ash brown or I'll ombre it but since I'm in the midst of 'Save Cammy's Hair', there's limitations on what I can do and this is the perfect timing to toy with the bottom half of my hair. My previous hair color was really blond-ish so there wasn't a need for me to bleach my hair to get this effect and even if I had to bleach it, I wouldn't because I think I need to love my hair a little bit more. Hahaha.
I really like how it feels so peacock-ish, as though I have mystical hair heehee.
I was actually pretty tempted to dye my hair jet black cause it'll look soooo good with turquoise blue but I don't think I'll be able to ever get used to black hair so Charles recommended me to go for a darker shade of brown which was a shade lighter than my virgin hair and I'm honestly glad he made that recommendation because omg, I'm very NOT used to having dark hair right now. This brown feels too dark for me still but if i go any lighter, my turquoise blue will not be able to stand out ESPECIALLY once it starts fading so ladies and gentlemen, when you're like me and you love all these fanciful hair colors, you really need to think long term especially when you're toying with 2 different colors.
With Christmas around the corner and if you're looking to do something special for Christmas, do quote 'Cammy' at Headlines Hairdressing for up to 30% OFF! and if you're wondering what color my hair is, don't worry there isn't any specific codes or what. Just tell Charles you want turquoise blue and he will mix the dye concoction for you. That's what I did (;
